Fluminense De Feira

Before Napoli, before the Brazil shirt, Careca was a teenager in Feira de Santana playing for the club his neighbours had built out of homesickness for Rio. He left for Corinthians and never came back. Clodoaldo passed through in the 1970s and 80s.

Supporters of Fluminense in Rio de Janeiro wanted the same thing in their own town, kept the green, red and white, and in 1941 got it. Professional status followed in 1954, and then something the coast had not expected: in 1963 the club took the Campeonato Baiano, the first side from the Bahian interior to win the state championship. They did it again in 1969.

In 2006 they won the Copa do Nordeste, beating Sergipe over two legs — a goal away, a draw at home.

Four seasons in Série A, from 1976 to 1979, are the high-water mark nationally, though the 1992 Série C final, lost, is the one that still gets argued about. Relegation within Bahia in 1998 was answered inside a year.

The Dérbi Feirense against Bahia de Feira divides the town itself, and the 16,274 seats of the Joia da Princesa have never been the quiet kind of ground when it is on.

They are champions of the Bahian second division as of 2026 — a first at that level for a club whose founders simply wanted a Fluminense of their own, closer to home.
