Color Line Stadion holds close to 11,000, and the arrangement dates from 2020, when the women's side, then playing as FK Fortuna Ålesund, agreed to cooperate with Aalesunds FK, took on the orange and blue, and became AaFK Fortuna. The full merger followed on 1 January 2026, and the team now plays as Aalesunds FK Kvinner.
The club traces back to 25 August 1991. divisjon but lost the promotion play-offs.
Divisjon again in 2021 and 2025. Katarina Dybvik Sunde finished as the 1. divisjon's top scorer in the 2025 title-winning campaign.
The Toppserien and the Norwegian Women's Cup remain untouched.
