Luch Women

Valentina Ignatyeva ran the attack for Luch through the 1960s, and the trophies from that decade still define the club: five Soviet titles between 1962 and 1968, and in 1963 the European Champions Cup, brought back by a Moscow team built at the Prozhektor factory under coach Lazar Gurevich. The side that won it played under the name Trud before it became Luch. The squad also carried goalkeeper Maria Sharikova and left back Valentina Bobrova.

In the Russian Super League the closest Luch has come is a runners-up finish in the Cup, in 2008, and the 2025/2026 season brought a first semi-final appearance in the post-Soviet era. A year earlier they had finished seventh only after winning the playoff for that place. The current squad plays in front of 500 seats at the club's own Universal Sports Hall, and its scoring now runs through Snezana Mahneva and Zlata Fedosova.

Every Luch season still turns on Moscow. CSKA share the city and the fixture list; Spartak Moscow and Dinamo Volgograd complete the list of matches Luch supporters mark on the calendar before any other.
