Forwards of Madison and Greenville Triumph played out a 1:1 draw in USL League One on Wednesday evening. The result keeps Madison third in the table with 47 points from 25 games and leaves Greenville in 15th place on 23 points after 23 matches.
M. Nour gave the hosts the lead in the 27th minute before picking up a yellow card just one minute later. B. Fricke was also cautioned in the 40th minute and came off for a substitution in the 42nd. H. Karamoko equalised for Greenville in the 44th, giving the visitors a point before half-time.
Greenville had a busy period in the middle of the match. Z. Bubb received a yellow card in the 46th minute, and J. Castro was booked twice in quick succession in the 57th and 58th minutes. The visitors made three changes in the 64th minute, bringing on J. Forbes, J. Bolma and R. Carmichael, before adding K. Fritz in the 67th.
The statistics showed Madison controlling much of the game. They held 60 per cent possession and registered 52 attacks compared to Greenville's 44. Seven shots found the target for the hosts against three for the visitors, while Madison won 11 corners to two.
C. Evans was booked for Greenville in the 74th minute, and the visitors made two more substitutions in the 82nd minute, introducing P. Seagrist and D. Boyce. Greenville picked up a total of three yellow cards during the match, while Madison received one.
The draw extended Madison's unbeaten run to four matches after a 1:2 defeat to Boise on 9 August. Greenville's recent form has been more uneven, with a 3:3 draw against Portland Hearts of Pine and a 0:1 loss to Charlotte Independence among their last five results.
