LASK Linz secured another comfortable win at home, beating SKR Altach 3:0 in the fifth round of the Austrian Bundesliga. The match took place at the Raiffeisen Arena on Saturday evening, and the result keeps the hosts perfect from the start of the campaign.
C. Lang opened the scoring after just three minutes, taking advantage of a momentary lapse in the away defence. He doubled LASK's advantage before the break, finding the net again in the nineteenth minute. F. Flecker added the third goal in the eighty-ninth minute to wrap up the points.
The match produced a fair number of substitutions, with Altach making four changes around the sixty-fourth minute in an attempt to change the tone. Yellow cards accumulated in the second half: Ousmane Diawara, Xavier Mbuyamba, Vesel Demaku, Patrick Greil, Alemão and Filip Milojevic all went into the book.
LASK dominated the statistics, holding 58 per cent of possession and registering 11 shots on target compared to Altach's two. The hosts made 163 passes into the final third and created five big chances, while the visitors managed only three key passes and two big opportunities. Altach's goalkeeper had to make eight saves, while LASK's keeper was called on twice.
And here's the thing about the table — LASK sit top with four wins from four games and twelve points. Altach remain in eleventh place with just one win from five matches and three points, and this result extends their winless run to four consecutive defeats.
