Adam Lowry Downplays Hellebuyck Trade Rift

Adam Lowry has addressed Connor Hellebuyck's trade request, saying the goaltender's decision will not divide the Winnipeg Jets dressing room.

Hellebuyck, a three-time Vezina Trophy winner, asked out of the only NHL organisation he has ever played for. The 33-year-old American is under contract through 2031 at an average annual salary of $8.5 million.

"Nothing has been decided for certain yet. Yes, the situation is what it is. But if you spend too much time on speculation, you can drive yourself crazy. It's clear that this will be resolved one way or another. Hellebuyck is a good friend of ours. We don't believe this situation will seriously affect the atmosphere in the dressing room or lead to a split in the team. It's his personal decision. He believes it's better for his family," Lowry said.

Lowry's message follows the same line — an unwanted departure, framed by the players left behind as a personal choice rather than a rift.
