Eniss Shabani

Eniss Shabani was born in Giessen, Germany, and holds dual citizenship of Albania and Germany, the son of a Kosovan father and a Bosnian mother. He came through the youth ranks of TSV Krofdorf-Gleiberg, FSG Wettenberg and TSG Wieseck before joining the academy at 1. FSV Mainz 05 in 2015. He worked his way up to the Mainz II reserve side in 2021, where he made 85 league appearances and scored 5 goals, and was eventually handed his Bundesliga debut for the first team against Eintracht Frankfurt, though senior opportunities at the club remained limited to that single appearance.

His path forward came abroad. In August 2025, once his Mainz contract had expired, Shabani signed for the Croatian side HNK Vukovar 1991 on a free transfer. He became a regular there, making 27 league appearances and forming part of the squad that won the 1. NL, sealing promotion to the Prva HNL.

That form led to a move into the Ekstraklasa in July 2026, when he signed a two-year contract with Śląsk Wrocław running until June 2028. He has made a swift impression in Poland, scoring in the early stages of his spell there.

Shabani has represented Germany at both under-16 and under-19 level and has since switched allegiance to Albania, where he has been capped twice at under-21 level.
