About the player
Chissumba was in the SC Braga squad for the 2023–24 Taça da Liga final, though he did not get on the pitch. It remains the one senior honour on his record so far.
He joined the Braga academy in 2014, and the club sent him to Brazil twice while he was still a youth player — two spells at Palmeiras FC, in 2018–19 and again in 2020–21. The senior football began in Liga 3 with Braga's B side in 2023: 40 appearances over two seasons, four goals from the back.
Early in 2025 he was moved up to the first team, and the 2024–25 season brought 18 senior matches for Braga — 16 in the Primeira Liga, one in the Europa League, one in the Taça de Portugal. In August 2025 he went to FC Alverca on a season-long loan, playing 21 matches across the Primeira Liga, the Taça de Portugal and the Taça da Liga. He did not score. When that loan expired in June 2026 he was not sent back to Alverca on a fresh deal for 2026–27.
Portugal have used him at every youth level from U17 upwards: three caps at U17, seven at U18, nine at U19, six at U20 and four at U21. He has yet to be capped by the senior side.
No fee has been disclosed for any of his moves to date.
