About the player
Luis Eduardo Quintero Hernández was born in Alicante and holds Colombian nationality, having represented Colombia at both under-16 and under-20 level. His senior career began with Villarreal CF C.
Quintero's development continued through two loan spells away from Villarreal. At SD Amorebieta in the Segunda División he made 20 appearances and provided one assist, though the loan was cut short and terminated in January 2024. He then moved to Deportivo de La Coruña for the second half of that season, appearing five times as the club won the Primera División RFEF title; a non-obligatory purchase option attached to the deal was not taken up, and Quintero returned to Villarreal CF B.
He left Villarreal permanently in January 2026, signing for S.C.U. Torreense in Liga Portugal 2 on a contract running until 2028, with Villarreal keeping a percentage of any future sale. Torreense won the Taça de Portugal, beating Sporting CP 2–1 in the final. A left-footed right winger, Quintero built his path through loan football in Spain's lower divisions before finding a settled role in Portugal.
