The 1990 title tells its own story of timing: Pamba SC won the Tanzanian Premier League that year, sandwiched between Nyerere Cup wins in 1989 and 1992.
The club took shape in Mwanza in 1968, in a city built on the fishing and cotton trade along Lake Victoria, and it has stayed tied to that ground ever since.
Supporters call the team Wana Tipilindanda, those who love to play, and also Wana Kawekamo, the ones who cannot be beaten.
Home games are played at CCM Kirumba Stadium on Makongoro Road, a ground with room for 35,000 that Pamba shares with fellow Mwanza club Toto Africans.
