Suhareka

Suhareka spent last season proving it deserved a place among Kosovo's second tier, and next season it gets to test itself in the Superliga. Winning Group A of the Liga e Parë in 2024 sent the club up a division barely a year after it existed at all.

The club was formed on 5 June 2023, put together by a group of local investors who had previously backed Ballkani. Within weeks it merged with KF A&N, and the combined side took the field for 2023/24 under the Suhareka name. There was no ground ready for it yet: the team opened its debut campaign at the 1,500-capacity Boka-Boka before moving into its own home, the Stadiumi i Qytetit të Suharekës, which holds 2,000.

Cup football gave the new club its sternest test that same season. Suhareka reached the semi-final of the Kosovo Cup and drew Ballkani, the very club its own backers had once funded. The first leg went 1-0 to Ballkani; Suhareka came back for 2-2 in the return, but the aggregate score, 3-2, sent Ballkani through and left Suhareka without a first trophy.
