Motherwell pulled one back through Kanga in the 90th minute to salvage a point. By then the match had already seen six substitutions and four yellow cards. Sparrow, Charles-Cook, Maswanhise, Agrafiotis, Ramsay, Mochrie, Hodge, Ramos, Said and Kabia all came off the bench at various stages.
Motherwell held 55 per cent possession but could only muster six shots on target. St Mirren managed nine with 45 per cent of the ball. Both sides registered two yellow cards and each had a goalkeeper making several saves — four for the hosts, six for the visitors.
The result keeps St Mirren fourth with six points from two games and Motherwell fifth on four. Neither side lost, but neither side won either. The Premiership continues with both clubs still searching for consistency.
