Match report

**By Étienne Gagnon**

Vllaznia suffered a stunning defeat at home to Prishtina, losing 4-0 in the fourth round of League 2 on Friday evening. The result upended expectations entirely, with the league leaders finding themselves on the wrong end of a comprehensive away victory.

To be fair, the odds were stacked against Prishtina going into this encounter. Vllaznia sat top of the table with nine points from three games, having won every match they had played. Prishtina, meanwhile, languished in 13th place with just three points from three outings, sitting on one win and two defeats.

The home side had been imperious in their opening fixtures, beating Besa Peja 1-0, Suhareka 2-0, and Teferi Kanga 3-1. That perfect start made the result all the more unexpected. By then, Prishtina's recent form told a different story entirely — a narrow 1-0 win over Istogu sandwiched between a 1-4 loss to Vjosa and a 0-2 defeat to Trepça '89.

What this means: Vllaznia's unbeaten run comes to an abrupt halt after four consecutive victories. Prishtina, meanwhile, grab their first away win of the season and move closer to safety in the standings.

The result suggests that Vllaznia may have underestimated their visitors, or perhaps the pressure of being perfect for three games straight took its toll. Either way, the gap at the top of the table remains significant, but the message from this match is clear — no team in League 2 should be taken for granted.
