About the player
Asbjørn Bøndergaard grew up playing for Ringkøbing IF before joining Silkeborg IF's youth setup in 2019, a move that followed a spell of dual training with both clubs the previous year. He made his senior debut for Silkeborg in a cup match in April 2023 and stepped up to the Superliga the following month, though first-team opportunities stayed limited — nine league appearances without a goal across his time at the club.
His breakthrough came away from Silkeborg. Loaned to FC Fredericia in the 1st Division for the 2024–25 season, Bøndergaard scored 12 goals in 23 league appearances. In January 2026, Lyngby Boldklub signed him from Silkeborg for a fee of around 500,000 euros, making him the most expensive signing in the club's history at the time.
Bøndergaard has also worked his way through the Danish youth international ranks, representing the country at under-16, under-17, under-18, under-19 and under-20 level, scoring for the under-16s and under-18s along the way.
