About the player
Kayo grew up in the D.C. United academy before moving into senior football with Loudoun United, the club's reserve side, where he made three appearances in the USL Championship. A brief stint at Orange County SC followed without a senior appearance, and in 2020 he crossed the Atlantic to join VfL Wolfsburg.
He made eight appearances for the club's reserve side, then went out to FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin, where he played 11 times, and later to 1. FC Nürnberg's second team, where he found the net eight times in 36 appearances. A short loan with Nürnberg's senior squad brought two outings in the 2. Bundesliga.
Kayo left Wolfsburg on a free transfer in 2023 to join FC Ingolstadt 04, where he made 24 appearances and scored once. A loan to VfL Osnabrück for the 2024–2025 season proved productive, with 30 appearances and three goals, and Osnabrück made the move permanent in June 2025 for a fee of €150,000. Within weeks, Kayo moved again, this time to OH Leuven on a contract until 2028. He has since made five appearances for OH Leuven.
At international level, Kayo represented the United States at U17 level, winning eight caps and scoring once, and was part of the squad at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup. He has not yet been capped by the senior USMNT.
