About the player
Ewoud Pletinckx came through a string of amateur youth sides around Zottegem — KSV Geraardsbergen, KSV Sottegem and RFC Wetteren — before SV Zulte Waregem took him into its academy. He was promoted to the first team in the summer of 2018 and made his senior debut against Antwerp FC on 19 January 2019, going on to play for the club until the summer of 2022. His time at Zulte Waregem ended with a trophy: he was part of the squad that won the Belgian Cup in the 2020–21 season.
On 1 July 2022 Pletinckx moved to OH Leuven for a fee of €750,000, signing a contract running to 30 June 2026. He has since added a second Belgian Cup winner's medal, as part of the OH Leuven squad that lifted the trophy in the 2024–25 season.
At international level, Pletinckx worked his way through Belgium's youth ranks, collecting caps for the under-17, under-18 and under-19 sides before featuring for the under-21 team between 2021 and 2023.
