About the player
Chico Kim's career has run on parallel tracks in Brazil and South Korea. Born Francisco Hyun-sol Kim and raised in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay, he took South Korean citizenship in 2016, a move that let him play there without being treated as a foreign signing. He has never been capped by either country at senior level.
He started out with Atlético Sorocaba, with a loan spell at Brasiliense along the way, before spells at Tupi, XV de Piracicaba, Red Bull Bragantino and Capivariano. In 2016 he made his first move to South Korea, joining Seoul E-Land, then returned to Brazil a year later with CRB. A second South Korean stint followed at Pohang Steelers in 2018, before he went back to Ceará at the end of that year.
He moved on to Juventude in April 2021 and renewed his contract there in December of that year. Mirassol was not new territory for him — he had already spent time on loan at the club in 2020 — and he returned there permanently in February 2023 for a second stint, since extended with a contract running to the end of 2026.
