About the player
Salvador raised him, but Bahia shaped him: Eric dos Santos Rodrigues came through the club's academy from 2011, working his way to a first-team debut in 2018 without any shortcut through the reserves.
A loan spell took him to Switzerland, where he spent the 2019–20 season with Basel, testing himself outside Brazilian football before his career pivoted definitively. RB Bragantino brought him in on loan for the 2020–21 campaign, and the move stuck: in 2022 the Brazilian side sold 70% of his economic rights to the Bragança Paulista club, turning a temporary arrangement into a permanent one. He has worn the number 7 shirt there ever since.
The workload has been steady rather than spectacular — 26 appearances across competitions in 2024 — and Eric dos Santos Rodrigues has built his place in the squad on that consistency. His representative honours stop at Brazil's under-20 side; a senior call-up has not followed.
