On 1 January 2020, an Austrian drinks company signed papers that put a small-town club from the São Paulo interior on a different map. The black-and-white shirt that had carried the nickname Massa Bruta since the 1930s picked up red, the name Bragantino became Red Bull Bragantino, and a club found itself part of a network stretching from Salzburg to Leipzig.

Red Bull's ambitions in the town went further than one club. A second project, Red Bull Brasil, had been running in the same city since 2007; it was rebranded Red Bull Bragantino II in 2023 and closed the following year.

Home games are played at the Estádio Nabi Abi Chedid, known locally as the Nabizão, whose 17,022 seats are cut to 12,452 for CONMEBOL nights. Since 2025 the ground has been closed for conversion into an arena, and the club has been playing its home fixtures at the municipal Estádio Cícero de Souza Marques, which holds 10,000.

The trophy room holds two Série B titles and a Paulista championship. The closest the club had come to Brazil's biggest prize was 1991, when it finished as Série A runner-up, a height it would not reach again for more than thirty years.

Claudinho was named the Brasileirão's best player while wearing the shirt, before Red Bull moved him along its own pipeline, first to Leipzig, then to Benfica. Juninho Paulista had played there in the 2000s, long before any of that; more recently Eduardo Sasha and Jhon Jhon have carried the goalscoring load.

Under Pedro Caixinha the club finished fourth in the 2023 Série A and reached the final of the Copa Sul-Americana two years earlier. Caixinha left in 2024, and Vagner Mancini has since taken charge.
