Ísak Snær Þorvaldsson

The clearest line in Ísak Snær Þorvaldsson's career is the loan-to-permanent route: Lyngby took him from Rosenborg on loan in July 2025, and by April 2026 the Danish club had seen enough to exercise the option and sign him outright, tying him down to a contract running to 2029.

Before that move, his career had already taken him through several stops. He left Afturelding's youth ranks for Norwich City in 2017, going out instead on loans to Fleetwood Town and St. Mirren, and later to ÍA Akranes, where he scored three goals in 27 appearances. The breakthrough season came back home at Breiðablik in 2022, when he scored 14 goals in 24 appearances. A second loan spell at Breiðablik in 2024 produced nine goals in 22 games before he returned to Norway for the 2025 season, shortly before the Lyngby move.

At international level, Ísak made his Iceland debut as a substitute in a 1–0 friendly defeat to Saudi Arabia in November 2022. His first goal for the national team came just over a year later, against Guatemala in January 2024. He has gone on to add caps against South Korea, Estonia, Sweden, Honduras and Japan, taking his tally to seven appearances and one goal.
