Johan Helge Dahlin

Johan Dahlin returned to Malmö FF in July 2017 on a free transfer, four years after leaving the club, and the second spell has turned into the defining chapter of his career. He had already won the Allsvenskan twice with Malmö between 2009 and 2013, but since coming back he has added titles in 2017, 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024, plus the Svenska Cupen in 2021–22 and 2023–24.

Between the two spells, Dahlin moved to Gençlerbirliği in Turkey in January 2014, then to FC Midtjylland in Denmark a year later, where he won the Danish Superliga in the 2015–16 season before heading back to Sweden. By mid-2024 he had made 379 competitive appearances for Malmö FF across both periods, 120 in the first and 259 in the second, including 172 league matches since his return. He has also appeared in five UEFA Europa League group stages with the club, a record for a Malmö goalkeeper.

Dahlin's path to Malmö began in Norway, at Lyn Fotball, where he made his senior debut in 2006 after progressing through the youth ranks at Trollhättans FK and Åsebro IF. A loan at Trelleborgs FF in 2008 preceded his first move to Malmö in July 2009, a spell that already carried the 2010 and 2013 Allsvenskan titles and the 2013 Svenska Supercupen before his first departure.

At international level, Dahlin represented Sweden's under-21 side 24 times between 2006 and 2009 before earning four senior caps between 2009 and 2014, making his debut against the United States in January 2009. In 2013 he was nominated for Allsvenskan Goalkeeper of the Year.
