About the player
Jonathan Risbjerg Ægidius came up through Lyngby's own academy after starting out at Slangerup & Omegn IF and later FC Nordsjælland, and made his first-team debut for the club in November 2020. In February 2021 he left for Brøndby IF, a move that came with reported competition from FC København for his signature.
His time at Brøndby did not bring a settled run as first-choice goalkeeper. He was loaned out twice: first to HIK in July 2022, where he made three appearances before being recalled the following month, and then to Kolding IF for the 2024–25 season, where he made 11 appearances before Brøndby called him back at the end of 2024.
In February 2025, Ægidius returned to Lyngby Boldklub for good, signing a contract running to June 2028. Unlike his loan spells, this was described as an outright transfer rather than another temporary arrangement. He made his Superliga debut for the club the following month.
At youth international level, Ægidius represented Denmark from U16 through U21, picking up caps at each age group between 2018 and 2023, though he has not featured for the senior national side.
Ægidius was part of the Lyngby squad that won the Danish 1st Division title, securing the club's promotion to the Superliga for the 2026–27 season.
