Jorge Emanuel Broun

Rosario Central is the club Jorge Broun keeps coming back to. He made his senior debut in the Torneo Clausura in 2006 and, once he had taken over as first-choice goalkeeper after 2008, went on to make 104 league appearances before leaving in 2013. One moment from that first spell stands out: on 23 October 2009 he scored a penalty in a 2–0 win over Independiente, becoming the first goalkeeper in Rosario Central's history to score in the Primera División, a feat only later matched by Gaspar Servio.

After leaving Rosario Central he spent time on loan at Deportes Antofagasta in Chile, then joined Colón, first on loan and then permanently, helping the club win promotion to the Argentine top flight. A move to Bulgaria followed in 2017, when he signed for Ludogorets Razgrad, where he won two league titles and two Bulgarian Supercups before departing by mutual consent at the end of 2019. A spell at Gimnasia La Plata came next, before he returned to Rosario Central in 2021.

That second spell is where Broun has made his name. He became a key figure and captain, and his standout year came in 2023, when he was named the Best Player of the Copa de la Liga Profesional. His penalty saves were decisive throughout the knockout rounds: against Racing Club in the quarter-finals he saved a spot kick from Leonardo Sigali in a 7–6 shootout win, and against River Plate in the semi-finals he denied three penalties in succession, from Enzo Díaz, Agustín Palavecino and Gonzalo Martínez, in a 2–0 shootout victory. Rosario Central went on to win that Copa de la Liga Profesional title.
