About the player
He came up through Independiente del Valle's academy, which he joined at the age of ten, and did not make his senior debut until December 2023. Independiente del Valle reached the finals of both the Liga Pro and the Copa Ecuador that year, though the club finished runners-up in each.
He also featured for the Ecuador under-20 side, scoring at the 2025 South American U-20 Championship, before making his senior international debut in October 2024 under coach Sebastián Beccacece.
The transfer market moved quickly after that breakout season. In February 2025, Arroyo left Independiente del Valle for Beşiktaş in a deal worth around €5.67 million. After making around a dozen appearances for the Istanbul club, he moved on to Brazil's Cruzeiro before the end of the year, in a transfer reported at close to €7 million, and signed a contract running to the end of 2029.
At Cruzeiro he now plays as a forward.
