L. Bombino

Luca Bombino came through the club's academy and two seasons with LAFC 2 in MLS NEXT Pro, where he made 32 appearances. He never played a competitive match for the LAFC first team.

In February 2025, he joined San Diego FC on a season-long loan in exchange for an international roster slot. He made his debut for the club and went on to play 33 matches in his first season, scoring his first professional goal on 5 July 2025 in a 4-3 defeat to Houston Dynamo. San Diego FC exercised its option to sign him for 200,000 dollars in allocation money, a fee that can rise to 900,000 dollars depending on performance clauses. In January 2026 the club committed to him further, agreeing a contract through the 2028/29 season with an option for an additional year.

Bombino was named to the MLS 22 Under 22 list in 2025, ranked ninth. On 11 April 2026 he scored San Diego FC's 100th goal in the club's history, and he added another in August against CF América.

At youth level, Bombino has represented the United States at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-20 level, including a call-up to the Under-20 World Cup in 2025. He has not yet been capped by the senior national team.
