About the player
Provod came through the Viktoria Plzeň academy without breaking into the first team, and it was two loan spells that shaped him as a player: forty appearances at Baník Sokolov, then a promotion-winning stint at Dynamo České Budějovice, where four goals in thirteen second-tier matches helped the club up to the Czech First League. Slavia Praha took him on loan in September 2019, and after six appearances and a single goal the club made the move permanent that January.
At Slavia he became a regular in a side that kept winning the league, and has passed 160 appearances and twenty goals for the club. The 2020–21 season was his best: he was named Czech First League Player of the Year and Midfielder of the Year, and was included in the UEFA Europa League Squad of the Season. He has also added a further Czech First League title and two Czech Cups to his collection with Slavia.
A serious knee injury sustained in 2021 kept him out of the squad for UEFA Euro 2020. He recovered to make his senior debut for the Czech Republic against Slovakia in September 2020, and has since earned 41 caps and scored three goals. He has also been selected for the 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.
