About the player
Brought on as a substitute in the 76th minute of a 3. Liga match against Dynamo Dresden in January 2023, the forward scored the equaliser in the 90th minute to secure a 1-1 draw.
Janssen's route to that stage ran through the German lower leagues. He started out at VfL Germania Leer before moving to SC Blau-Weiß Papenburg, then joined SV Atlas Delmenhorst, where he was part of the side that gained promotion to the Regionalliga Nord for the 2020/21 season after the Oberliga Niedersachsen campaign was curtailed by the pandemic and the division decided on points-per-game.
He nonetheless remained at the club until the summer of 2025, when he moved on to Rot-Weiß Essen, joining a squad where he now wears the number 20 shirt.
Janssen has not been capped by Germany at any level.
