Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui

Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui's career took him from Yaoundé to lower-league German football and back to the top level via the Czech Republic. He started out at Canon Yaoundé before a move to Germany, where he spent time with Kirchhörder SC, the reserve side of SV Sandhausen and the reserve side of 1. FC Nürnberg. A free transfer to Romania's FC Botoșani in 2014 kept his career moving, and two years later Slavia Prague paid €500,000 for him.

He won the Czech First League twice and the Czech Cup twice, was named the league's best defender in 2018–19, and once scored a hat-trick against Příbram. In January 2019 a €4 million move to Fulham fell through even after he had passed a medical, and he instead joined KAA Gent for €4.5 million.

His finest spell in a Cameroon shirt came at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, which the country won with Ngadeu-Ngadjui scoring twice and earning a place in the Team of the Tournament. He went on to accumulate 64 caps and five goals for the national side, though he was left out of the squads for the 2022 World Cup and the 2025 AFCON.

He later took his career to China, joining Beijing Guoan on a free transfer in 2023. He won the Chinese FA Cup with the club in 2025 and was named in the CSL Team of the Season in 2023. When his contract in Beijing expired, he moved on a free transfer to Chongqing Tongliang Long.
