About the player
Maher Carrizo began playing football at the age of five in Colonia Dora, turning out for Club Atlético Sarmiento before a brief spell at Central Córdoba in his native Santiago del Estero. In 2015 he moved into the Vélez Sarsfield academy, before making his professional debut in January 2024.
In February 2026 Ajax signed him from the Buenos Aires club. The deal was structured in stages: an initial €6 million secured 50% of his economic rights, with add-ons of €1.25 million triggered for every 45 official matches he plays, a mechanism that could push the total value to €11 million for 90% of his rights.
Carrizo's stay in Amsterdam was short-lived before a new step followed: in August 2026 he was loaned out to FC Copenhagen for the 2026–27 season.
