Marcos Paulo Costa do Nascimento

In 2019, with dual Brazilian and Portuguese citizenship, Marcos Paulo turned down a call-up to Brazil's under-18 side in favour of Portugal's under-19s.

He joined the Fluminense academy in 2012 and came off the bench for the first team on 30 January 2019, in a 3-0 Campeonato Carioca win over Madureira. Between 2019 and 2021 he made 62 appearances for the club and scored 10 goals — which he signed in 2021 as a free agent.

Instead came the loans: 15 games without a goal at Famalicão, 13 games and one goal at Mirandés in the Spanish second division, then a return home to São Paulo in 2023 for 20 appearances, two goals. A spell at RWD Molenbeek in Belgium brought two appearances before the contract was cut short in November 2024. Boavista followed in 2025 — eight games, two goals — then a loan to Operário Ferroviário, where he played 11 Série B matches and scored once.

He signed for Juventude on 13 January 2026 on a deal running to the end of the season. Under Maurício Barbieri he has started 26 of his 32 matches, scoring five goals — two against Ponte Preta and one against Londrina in Série B, two more against Guaporé in the Copa do Brasil — and adding three assists. He also featured four times in the 2026 Campeonato Gaúcho, with one assist. He wears the number 10.
