Michael Cooper

Michael Cooper made his senior debut for Plymouth Argyle in October 2017, having joined the club's academy as a child, and went on to make more than 150 appearances before leaving in August 2024. In 2021–22 he kept 18 clean sheets in 46 games to share the Golden Glove with David Stockdale, and the following season he helped Plymouth win the League One title. Both campaigns brought him the club's Player of the Season award, and he was picked for the League One Team of the Season in each of those two years, having already been named the club's Young Player of the Season in 2020–21.

Plymouth also reached the EFL Trophy final in that title-winning season, though they finished as runners-up. Cooper left for Sheffield United on 15 August 2024, in a move reported to be worth an initial £2 million with add-ons that could take it to £4 million, even though neither club confirmed the figures. He settled quickly at his new club, and in his first season at Bramall Lane he was named Sheffield United's Player of the Year for 2024–25.

Cooper has spent his entire senior career at just two clubs, without ever going out on loan to gain experience elsewhere. He has yet to be capped by England at senior level.
