Óscar Gil Regaño

Óscar Gil Regaño came through the youth ranks at Elche, moving from CD Pablo Iglesias and Kelme CF into the club's academy before joining Elche CF Ilicitano, the reserve side, where he made 71 appearances between 2015 and 2019. His first-team debut came in the Copa del Rey against Córdoba CF in October 2018, and he went on to make 33 appearances and score one goal for Elche, contributing to the team's promotion to La Liga in the 2019–20 season.

That promotion campaign made him a wanted man. In September 2020, Gil activated his release clause to move to RCD Espanyol for €500,000, signing a four-year contract. He went on to make 106 appearances for Espanyol, scoring once.

At youth international level, Gil represented Spain at U17, U18 and U19 level, earning 12 caps and scoring twice, and was part of the Spain squad that finished third at the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup. He was called up to the senior national squad for a friendly against Japan in 2021.

In August 2024, Gil joined OH Leuven on a free transfer, signing a two-year contract running until June 2026.
