Omar Faraj

Faraj was born in Stockholm and came through Swedish youth football at Vasalunds IF, AIK and IF Brommapojkarna before Levante UD signed him in August 2021 on a five-year contract. He spent his first season in Spain mostly with the reserve side, Atlético Levante, in Segunda División RFEF, where he scored seven goals in 29 appearances, and made his La Liga debut for the first team in May 2022. A loan to Degerfors IF in Superettan followed later that year. In January 2023 he returned to Sweden for good, moving from Levante to AIK.

September 2024 brought a switch to Egyptian football, with Zamalek SC signing him on a contract running to June 2027. Appearances in the Egyptian Premier League and CAF Confederation Cup were limited, though he won the 2024 CAF Super Cup with the club. A second loan spell at Degerfors, from January to July 2025, preceded his departure from Zamalek on a Bosman free transfer in February 2026 to join Halmstads BK on a contract until June 2028.

Faraj represented Sweden at under-21 level, earning five caps, and was capped twice by the senior Swedish national team in 2023. In 2024 he switched allegiance to Palestine, making his debut in June that year in World Cup qualifiers against Lebanon and Australia. He has since gone on to win five caps for Palestine.
