About the player
Fábio Patrick dos Reis dos Santos Fernandes played for Oliveira do Hospital in 2016, producing 22 goals in 27 appearances that season, before moving to Felgueiras 1932, where he added 14 or 15 more goals in around 21 to 23 matches. Spells at Tondela and Farense followed, with a loan to Varzim breaking up his time at the latter club, before a run through Chaves, Torreense and Marítimo took him up to his move to Oțelul Galați in 2025.
On 24 August 2025, Fernandes scored a hat-trick as Oțelul beat CFR Cluj 4–1 in the SuperLiga. All three goals came from open play, making it the first "clean" hat-trick of the 2025/2026 Romanian season and the first of his own professional career.
Internationally, Fernandes represents Cape Verde, for whom he debuted in a friendly against Andorra on 3 June 2018, a goalless draw that Cape Verde won on penalties. He has since featured in a friendly against Guinea and in Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Cameroon and Mozambique, all in 2020 and 2021. He has not been capped since March 2021.
