About the player
Rogério Nyakossi is a Geneva-born defender who came through the Servette academy after starting out at FC Meyrin, signing his first professional contract in November 2020 and making his first-team debut for the Swiss club in August 2021. He won the Swiss U18 Cup during his time there.
In July 2022, Olympique de Marseille paid €2.0 million for him. The move did not translate into first-team football, however: across three years at the French club he made no appearances for the senior side in Ligue 1 or the domestic cups, instead playing for Marseille B in the lower reaches of the French pyramid and for the U19 side, including outings in the UEFA Youth League. There were no loan spells to break up that period.
His path changed in January 2025, when OH Leuven signed him from Marseille for €800,000. Since arriving in Belgium he has established himself in the first team, and by May 2026 he had made 32 league appearances and scored five goals.
Nyakossi has represented Switzerland at every youth level from the U18s up to the U21s, holding dual Swiss and Togolese citizenship, though he has yet to win a senior cap for either country.
