About the player

Sherel Floranus came through the Spartaan '20 youth ranks before joining the Sparta Rotterdam academy, and it was at Sparta that he made his professional debut in August 2015. He went on to make 61 league appearances for the Rotterdam club, and during the 2015–16 season he was part of the squad that won the Eerste Divisie title and secured promotion to the Eredivisie.

A move to SC Heerenveen followed in 2018, where he spent three seasons and made 71 league appearances. He then left for Turkey, joining Antalyaspor on a free transfer in 2021 and playing 30 league matches there before returning to the Netherlands.

Floranus is of Curaçaoan descent, and although he represented the Netherlands at various youth levels up to U21, he switched allegiance to the Curaçao senior national team in 2023. He has since earned 31 caps and was part of the squad that qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as well as the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
