About the player
Sebastian Murru came through the OH Leuven academy after his release from KRC Genk, where he had spent his youth years following an earlier spell at Eendracht Termien. He joined Leuven's youth setup in 2021.
His path to the first team went through the reserves. Murru made his debut for OH Leuven II against KSK Heist in January 2025, racking up appearances and contributing goals across two seasons with the under-23 side.
The step up came in August 2025, when he was named among the substitutes for OH Leuven's home match against KRC Genk — the very club that had let him go as a teenager — and was sent on in the 90th minute as Leuven went down 1-2.
Leuven rewarded his progress by tying him down with a contract extension in July 2026, committing him to the club for a further two years. Murru has also been capped by Belgium at under-17, under-18 and under-19 level, scoring for the under-19s along the way.
