About the player
Ventsislav Kerchev came through Dunav Ruse before joining the Ludogorets Razgrad academy, and he was still on the club's books when Ludogorets won the Bulgarian A Group title in the 2015–2016 season. Kerchev made 26 league appearances that campaign and scored twice, including a goal against Beroe Stara Zagora for which he was named Player of the Match. He went out on loan first to Lokomotiv Gorna Oryahovitsa and then to Botev Vratsa, where the second spell turned into a permanent free transfer in 2019.
He stayed at Botev Vratsa until 2021, then moved to Slavia Sofia on another free transfer. That spell proved the longest and most productive of his career: 108 league appearances and four goals across four seasons for the Sofia club. Kerchev has also represented Bulgaria at youth level, with caps for the under-17, under-19 and under-21 sides, scoring once for the under-21s, though he has not featured for the senior national team.
In 2025 he signed for Dobrudzha 1919 on a free transfer and was made captain, making 35 league appearances in the 2025–2026 season before his contract expired and he moved on to Cherno More Varna in June 2026.
