Victor Luis

Victor Luis’s career took shape in São Paulo, and he became a familiar face across Brazilian football. A loan spell took him to FC Porto's B team in 2012, but he returned to Palmeiras the following year and, after further loans to Ceará and Botafogo, established himself as part of a squad that collected silverware across several seasons — the Copa do Brasil in 2015, the Brasileirão title in 2018, the Campeonato Paulista in 2020 and the Copa Libertadores in 2021. His form during the 2018 Paulista campaign earned him a place in that tournament's Team of the Season, and during a second loan spell at Botafogo he was a fixture in the side, starting 13 of their 14 matches in the 2017 Copa Libertadores.

Left-footed and capable at left-back, Victor Luis carries Lithuanian ancestry through his father and was at one point monitored by the Lithuanian federation, though he has not won a senior cap for either Lithuania or Brazil. After leaving Palmeiras, his path took him through Coritiba and then Vasco da Gama, where he spent two years before the two parties agreed to terminate his contract in February 2026. He moved on immediately, joining Mirassol on a free transfer for the rest of the season.

Across his career he has made 295 appearances at club level, scoring 15 goals — modest numbers for a defender whose value has tended to show more in what he prevents than in what he scores.
