About the player
Yerjet Yerzat has kept goal on two continents. Born in Tacheng, Xinjiang, he came up through the Xinjiang Song Qingling Football School and the Xinjiang Youth Team before starting his senior career with Xinjiang Begonia in China League Two, making 23 appearances in 2012. The club withdrew the following year due to financial difficulties, and in January 2014 Yerzat moved to Portugal to join Gondomar S.C. in the Campeonato de Portugal.
His spell in Portugal ran for several years and several clubs. After around 30 appearances across two stints at Gondomar, he signed for F.C. Paços de Ferreira in the Primeira Liga in 2016 but did not add a league appearance there. A move to Leixões S.C. brought one league outing before his contract was terminated in early 2018. He then joined S.C. Salgueiros, where he kept clean sheets in six consecutive matches to open his spell and was named in the best team of the round for his first four games. He returned to Gondomar for the 2018–19 season, playing every minute of the club's official matches.
Yerzat came back to China in February 2019, signing for Chongqing Liangjiang Athletic — then known as Chongqing Dangdai Lifan — in the Chinese Super League on a free transfer. He recorded five clean sheets there before the club was dissolved in May 2022 amid financial restructuring. He moved on to Jiangxi Dingnan United, then to Qingdao West Coast in the Chinese Super League in 2024, before joining Chongqing Tonglianglong in January 2025. In July 2025 he went out on loan to Hubei Istar in China League Two, where he kept two clean sheets.
At international level, Yerzat represented China's youth sides, earning caps for the under-23 team and featuring for the under-22 side between 2013 and 2016.
