On 16 April 2025, Al Sailiya beat Al Waab 1-0 to clinch the Qatari Second Division title and book a return to the Qatar Stars League for 2025-26.

The club started out in 1995 as Al Qadisiya Sports Club and took its present name, Al Sailiya, in 2003. Based in Doha and known as The Peregrines, it plays in blue and black at the Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium, an 18,000-seat ground it borrows for league fixtures because its own stadium, which holds 1,500, is too small for Qatar Stars League football.

Its best run came in the early 2020s: the Qatar Stars Cup in 2021 and again in 2022, followed by the Qatar FA Cup in 2021. The league title itself has never come, and the nearest the club got to the Emir of Qatar Cup was a runner-up finish in 2014. Goalkeeper Grégory Gomis spent close to a decade at the club, from 2012 to 2021, and was named the league's best goalkeeper in 2014.

The club has no fixed rival to point to. Every return to the top flight instead throws it back in with Doha's bigger clubs, opponents to chase season after season rather than a single derby it can call its own.
