Bistrița Women

That rise did not start from nothing. The women's section traces back to 2009, when it competed in the lower divisions as CSM-LPS Bistrița, and it took until the 2016–17 season to reach the Liga Națională as CSM Bistrița. The 2018 takeover by the multi-sport club CS Gloria 2018 Bistrița-Năsăud brought the current name and the nickname, Gloria, along with the red and black colours.

The club had come close before winning anything outright. In 2024 it reached the final of the EHF European League and lost to Storhamar HE, and domestic finals in the Cupa României and the Supercupa României followed without a trophy to show for them. The 2025–26 season broke that pattern all at once: the Liga Națională title, the Cupa României and the Supercupa României all went to Bistrița in the same campaign.

Carlos Viver coaches the side that did it. Names like Alexandrina Barbosa and Gnonsiane Niombla have worn the shirt alongside Romanian internationals such as Valentina Ardean-Elisei. The rivalry with CSM Corona Brașov gets called a derby for first place, and Brașov, along with CSM Minaur Baia Mare, remains the measure Bistrița is judged against.
