In May 2024, a club found itself in Madrid for a Copa del Rey final. Bathco Torrelavega lost that final to Barcelona, but the defeat carried them into the EHF European League anyway, and the following season they finished third in Liga ASOBAL to book another continental ticket.

It is not, strictly, the same club that once wore the name. The current entity formed in 2002 out of a merger between two local teams, winning the second-tier title in 2020–21 before reaching Liga ASOBAL for the first time in 2021–22.

Home games are played at the Pabellón Municipal Vicente Trueba, and the derby against Blendio Sinfín, from nearby Santander, is billed locally as the Derbi cántabro. The nickname El Escuadrón Naranja comes straight off the shirt, orange over blue.
