Dibba Al-Fujairah

Kuwait, in the 1960s, is where the idea started, not Dibba: a group of young men from the town put together a side they called Union Gulf Sports Club so they would have something of home to follow. That was 1967. It took until 1976 for the club to register formally with the UAE Football Association, by which point it had taken the name it still carries, Dibba Sports and Cultural Club.

The nickname, Al Nawakhda — the Navigators — points to the same coastal life the founders had left behind to find work abroad. Dibba Al-Fujairah plays in sky blue and grey, moving into their own Dibba Stadium only once it met Pro League requirements.

Promotion has come easily to them and stuck rarely. The 2014–15 UAE Division One title took them up once; relegation followed a 13th-place finish back in the Pro League. The 2021–22 title took them up again, and the same pattern played out. By 2023–24 they had won the division a third time and gone up once more for the 2024–25 season.

Derby day against Al Fujairah SC carries the sharpest edge locally, sharpened further by the shared stadium history between the two towns' clubs; Dibba Al-Hisn SC supplies the other local rivalry.

Two promotions to the top flight inside a decade.
