Twenty wins and 2 defeats took Gamla Upsala Women through the 2021 Division 1 Norra Svealand campaign, and from there, into Elitettan for the first time. They have not left the division since, playing through the 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 seasons.

The team plays under Gamla Upsala SK, known as GUSK, a multi-sport club founded in 1947 in Uppsala; the women's side has no separate founding date on record, though it was already competing in Sweden's third tier by 2009.

Local rivalry runs through the Uppsaladerby, played against IK Uppsala.

In 2021 she moved to Lyon. Sanna Öhlund had her own moment in the spotlight in April 2023, scoring 5 goals in 3 matches to be named Elitettan's Player of the Month.
