Glasgow Hawks

Glasgow has three old rugby clubs with a claim on the city's history.

The club still plays at Balgray, on the grounds of Kelvinside Academy, in black shirts with red sleeves. Across the city, GHA RFC — the club formed by members who rejected the 1997 merger — remains the opponent supporters mark on the calendar before any other; the fixture is known simply as the Glasgow Derby.

Hawks has also become the club Glasgow Warriors and Scotland fish from. Matt Fagerson came through its ranks before establishing himself in both the Warriors pack and the national side, one line among several from Balgray to professional rugby, though it is the academy pipeline rather than any single name that defines the club's second act.

Three Premiership titles, back to back, from a club not yet ten years old at the time it won the first of them.
