Gniezno Women

A quarter-final in the Women's EHF European Cup is the furthest Enea MKS Gniezno have gone in Europe, reached in 2024/2025: since at least the 2015/2016 season the club has held its place in the Polish Women's Superliga without ever lifting the league or the Polish Women's Handball Cup.

The club traces back to 1957 and has changed its name with its sponsors over the years, from UKS Gniezno through MKS Urbis Gniezno and MKS PR Gniezno to the current Enea MKS Gniezno. It plays in yellow and black and is known to its supporters as Pszczółki, the Little Bees.

Home games are played at the Mieczysław Łopatka Sports and Entertainment Hall, built in 2018 and holding up to 1,210 people. The fixture that matters most in Gniezno is against AWS Energa Szczypiorno Kalisz, played out as the Derby Wielkopolski; Sparta Oborniki carried the same billing in seasons when it shared the top flight with Gniezno.

The current squad mixes Polish handball with imported experience: Magdalena Nurska and Monika Lęgowska, while Martina Popovcova of Slovakia and Denmark's Annika Fridheim Petersen.
