The team did not start from nothing: İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi Spor Kulübü handed over its infrastructure and players to Göztepe ahead of the 2025–26 season.

The debut came on 7 September 2025, against Üsküdar Bld. SK in the Turkish Women's Handball Super League.

Right wing Esin Sağdıç, a veteran of the squad, renewed her contract to stay on, while left back Sibel Kıcıroğlu arrived as a transfer for the following campaign. No major title has come Göztepe's way yet in either the league or the cup.

Home games are played at the Celal Atik Spor Salonu, a hall that holds 1,700 spectators.
