Hallby's women return to the Handbollsligan on the back of the club's best campaign so far: in 2023/2024 they reached the Swedish Championship play-offs for the first time, before Sävehof ended the run in the quarterfinal, 3-1 on aggregate. The top flight has not been a natural home for them in the past — two earlier spells there, in 2002/2003 and 2005/2006, both ended in relegation — which makes the current run, secured in 2022 with a 27-26 play-off win over Tyresö.

None has come yet — no Swedish Championship, no Swedish Cup — so the games that matter most to the supporters at Jönköpings Arena are the derbies: the Schlätta derby against Skara HF and the Smålandsderby against Amo HK.

The name Getterna, "the Goats," has stuck to the club regardless of which division it plays in, blue and white on the shirts through relegations and the recent climb back up.

Ulrika Toft Hansen, who played under her maiden name Ågren before her 88 caps for Sweden, is the player the club's history is most readily told through.
