Mors

In 2007 the two towns' top sides, HF Mors and Thisted IK, folded their first teams together, and Mors-Thy Håndbold has since split its home fixtures between Sparekassen Thy Arena on the Mors side and Thy Hallen in Thisted.

The club has made itself part of the top flight of Danish men's handball. Its high point came in the 2020–21 season, when it beat Aalborg Håndbold 32–31 to win the Landspokalturneringen, the national cup. Aalborg has stuck as the closest thing to a rival since, a match the local press has taken to calling the North Jutland derby.

In the league itself the best return remains a third-place finish in 2012–13, which carried the club into the EHF Cup. What has kept it competitive since is its academy: Nikolaj Madsen and Ludvig Bruun Sørensen both came up through it, and captain Sebastian Barthold has been a key player. Off it, supporters go by the name Bette Balkan, "Tiny Balkan," a tag that stuck after a journalist remarked on how loud a small crowd could be.
